Scobey Family Vacation 2010

The annual Scobey Family Vacation took place in Panama City Beach this year! It was so fun to all be together in the same place for a few days, even if Graham and Ashley had to work some while we were there!

We all flew down together in Pops' new plane, even Bear (Graham and Ashley's dog) joined us!
We did a lot of eating, a lot of sleeping and had a lot of fun just hanging out.

Regardless, Sophi and Evie had so much fun playing together! They are truly becoming great pals!! It is so cute to watch!

My sweet Sophia,

I can't believe a year has already gone by since the special day God brought you into this world. I still remember hearing your first cry and holding you in my arms for the very first time. You were so beautiful even at that moment and you are still the most beautiful little girl I have ever seen.I am amazed at how much you are doing these days! Your vocabulary has tripled in this last month. Your favorite words right now are airplane, Pops, balloon, all through, dog, brush, pat-pat, Shiloh, swing, bite, thank you and milk. You LOVE to talk and can pretty much mimic everything we say.God has begun revealing your tender heart to us over the past month. You love to give hugs, pat-pat those you love and blow kisses. You are still my tough cookie but I so love seeing this sweet side of your personality.You are still such a great sleeper, are so alert when you are awake and almost always have a smile on your face. You love being with people and are continuing to teach your dad and I how to be more social with strangers! You love to wave to everyone you see and always bring a smile to those you meet.Sophi, I love you more than I can express in words. You fill my heart with more joy than I new was even possible. I am so proud of you and thank God everyday that he chose me to be your mom. He has great plans for you and I look forward to watching them unfold. And no matter where this life takes you always remember that your mommy and daddy love you and will always be here for you.

Sophi's "third" birthday party

We were able to celebrate Sophi's official first birthday on September 11 with family and friends in Atlanta, GA. My mom did an AMAZING job planning the party, everything looked so cute! So many special people were able to celebrate with us including both sets of Sophi's great-grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and second cousins, my sweet friend Kathryn and her family, the Kennemers who are life long friends of both my parents and as well as us, and even the minister who married Josh and I over 5 years ago!

My dad grilled hambergers and hot dogs which were super yummy and we finished off the meal with cake and icecream of course! Sophi helped Nana make the potato salad.
This was Sophi's third time eating cake but it was still so funny to watch, she has NO fear of food! Sophi recieved so many sweet gifts that she enjoyed opening along with the help of the other kids at the party!
What a great way to celebrate our precious girl's first birthday. We are so excited to see all that God has in store for her in this next year of her life! Happy Birthday Sweet Sophi!

Sophi's "second" birthday

We have been on vacation for several weeks which is why I am just now getting around to updating the blog. We are having SUCH a good time relaxing and enjoying time with family and friends.The first few days of our vacation here in the south were to visit Josh's parents, "Grammy" and "Poppy" in Columbia, TN. While there we celebrated Sophi's birthday with her TN family including Josh's brother, our sister-in-law, and our niece Bella and nephews Julian and Aiden.



Sophi had such a great time and LOVED her cake. She got so many fun gifts, new books and toys, cute new clothes and shoes and a really fun "dress up" dress from her cousin Bella.

We really enjoyed making special memories with sweet family and we look forward to spending more time with them again soon.

Sophi's "First" Birthday

This past Monday we celebrated Sophi's first birthday a little early with our California family.
What a joy it was to share this special time with such amazing friends. Josh and I had so much fun putting the party together and felt so blessed as we watched all our friends love on our precious little girl.We had pizza in the park and enjoyed cupcakes for dessert. Sophi LOVED her cupcake and of course ate the whole thing!Josh surprised me for my birthday during Sophi's party with some yummy dessert. He also had each of the girls in our group share a way that I had blessed their life. What a special moment for me, I felt so blessed and so loved. It is one birthday moment I will never forget! I love my husband and my precious friends! Thank you all for loving and supporting our family the way you do! We thank God for your friendship.We leave bright and early tomorrow morning to head to Atlanta where we will spend the month of September traveling the South. I hope to document some of our special moments here so stay tuned!

Life Long Friends

While I was home a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend an entire day with my child hood friend Kathryn and her sweet baby boy Miller. We haven't lived in the same state since we were in high school so a whole day together for us is such precious time!!

I loved watching her be a mom to sweet Miller, she is such a wonderful mother. And Miller is oh so sweet!Kathryn, thank you for sharing your day with me. I praise God for our friendship that has stretched across many miles and through many years. I love you friend!

11 months old

This past month has been pretty busy with Daddy studying for comps and Sophi and I traveling to Atlanta for 10 days! Sophi and I were in Atlanta when Sophi turned 11 months so we weren't able to snap her picture until we got home this past week. I can't believe how big our "little" girl is!Sophi continues to add new words to her vocabulary on a daily basis. Some of the ones she is using most right now are ball, up, book, bite, duck, bow, shoe and baby. Since learning to walk one of her favorite things to do is put on shoes. She LOVES her shoes and fortunately Lolly helped us stock up on some really cute ones!Sophi has developed several new tricks over the past month. She has perfected a "fake" laugh which she loves to use, making her sound almost identical to a billy goat! Historical!

Another new "trick," unfortunately for mom, is throwing a fit when not getting her way. We are talking body limp and real tears. Yikes! We are working on learning how to be patient and using our words to express our feelings. Oh the joys of toddler-hood!

Sophi still loves the water. She had such a great time this past week hanging out with Lolly and her cousins Evie and Hope at the pool. She still loves to be on the beach but much prefers to climb on the beach chairs instead of play in the sand. Yet another new trick she has acquired, climbing. She tries to climb on everything! While at Lolly and Pops we found her standing on the door of the dishwasher while it was open! Crazy girl!
Sophi also found a love for sunglasses while we were at the beach and would walk around for hours with them on. It was so cute!Sophi's favorite person right now is her daddy. She missed him so much while were gone. Every male she saw she would point to and say "dada." The look on her face when she saw him at the airport was priceless!

A big change for me this past month was completely weaning Sophi. She pretty much decided on her own that she was done nursing and was ready to move on. Sophi and I had some sweet moments while nursing but I was ready to move on as well and have enjoyed the freedom weaning has brought us! One of those being able to eat peanut butter! Sophi had a slight reaction to peanut butter when nursing and I was told I couldn't eat it until she was weaned. I LOVE peanut butter, so 10 months without it was pretty tough. To celebrate Josh made me peanut butter 5 ways! It was delicious!!

Sophi's first birthday is literally right around the corner. We are excited to celebrate with our California family as well as our Southern family. We will be having a California party in a few days and then will share her actual birthday with friends and family in Atlanta! What an awesome year it has been! Praise God for the precious life he has given us in our sweet Sophi!
