Maddie's 4 Month Stats

The doctor said Maddie was doing great! Her percentages dropped a bit in growth but he was not too concerned, saying this is the size baby girl that would be more normal for Josh and I. Sophi seems to be an exception to that rule! 

Maddie's 4 Month Stats:

Weight: 12 pounds 4.5 ounces - 20%

Height: 24 inches - 30%

Head: 15 and 1/2 inches - 10%

On a bit of a sad side note, Maddie already has her first ear infection. Looks like a visit to the ENT could be in her future. Poor baby girl!

4 months old!!

Our baby girl is growing WAY TO FAST! 

Yesterday she turned 4 months old!

Here are some interesting things we have discovered about Maddie over the past month:

-she has found her feet...and LOVES them! She constantly grabbing them and playing with them.

-She has a contagious laugh. Her sister is the one who can get the most belly laughs out of her!

 - She has been on several dates with mommy and daddy and although she does not enjoy her carseat (we think she just gets too hot, she sweats a lot more than Sophi did) she has been the perfect third wheel!

 - she is constantly sticking her hands in her mouth and can occasionally be found sucking on her thumb. However, she currently still prefers her paci to her thumb.

 - Speaking of paci, her new trick is to pull her paci out of her mouth and put it back in, over and over and over again. The only way she can get a true nap now is if she is swaddled, so those crazy little hands and contained!

 - We started putting her in the bouncy seat, which she is really enjoying, just like her sister did. However, it has a way of wearing her out!

  - I bet you can't believe it but this sweet face is a terror when it comes to taking a bottle. She screams bloody murder and refuses ANY kind of bottle. This is slightly inconvenient for mommy but we are learning to adjust.

 - She grabs at everything within her reach and is developing much better accuracy when it comes to actually getting a hold of what she is reaching for!

-She is all about chewing right now, her tounge is often what ends up being chewed on the most!

Her personality is beginning to show! And although she can be a bit of a drama queen we are so in love with the precious little face!  We are constantly thanking God for this beautiful addition to our family! We can't wait to see all he has in store for her!

Another big day for Sophi

Today Sophi went to her first day of preschool! She was soooo excited. She tolerated my picture taking before we headed off to school. 

One of the veteran moms told me that once in line for drop off the kids usually climb in the front seat and wave to all their friends as they go inside. Sophi thought this was so cool! 

As the teacher took her out of the car she had to remind her to say goodbye to her mommy! She was ready to go!

Josh picked her up from school this afternoon and the first thing she told him was "Daddy I don't want to go home. I want to stay and play!" The teacher said she had a wonderful day,  she had been full of confidence and excitement.

Here's to many more first days of school my precious "big" girl!

One Big Girl

While we were on our vacation in Florida this past month Sophi decided she was ready to be potty trained! We had attempted mastering this skill several times in the past but Sophi refused. We were thrilled she was now finally ready! She had some trouble going #2 and had to have ALOT of coaxing to go the first time on the potty. But once she accomplished success the first time that was it! There was now going back! She even wanted to wear her big girl panties during rest time!!! 
Seriously, I thought this day would never come!!! She wears her big girl panties all the time now except at night (still working on waking up dry). 

Since achieving this accomplishment it has given her the confidence to do lots of things on her own, dress herself, pick out her clothes, put on her shoes, ride her tricycle, wash her hands, and on and on the list could go. In a matter of a week my baby girl is now a really big girl!

In an attempt to get her to poop I promised her a trip to touch the dolphins. Crazy I know! Let me preface this by saying 1. I was VERY desperate and 2. We were already in Florida and had already planed to go see the dolphins (sophi didn't know this!).

She has gone 4 or 5 day streches without an accident and is doing great! 

And tomorrow...she starts preschool!!!! My little girl is growing up way to fast! Where is the pause button?! We are so proud of our big girl!
