Josiah is One!

Our little man turned one year old today! 

My baby is growing up so fast!

The biggest change for Siah over the last month has been walking! He know walks almost everywhere. He is still a bit wobbly but can go anywhere he wants. One of his favorite things to do is take something out of a kitchen drawer and walk into another room to "put" it somewhere and then come back and do it again, over and over!

 He can also go from sitting to standing and walking now, no need to pull up on something anymore!

He is still Mr. Mischevious. He is always wanting to be wherever his sisters are. But he is usually wanting to take whatever it is they are playing with. This really upsets Maddie in particular. They have a love/hate relationship most of the time! He also still loves pulling Maddie's hair, which doesn't help her love for him!

This is a mischievous look we get a lot during the day!

 He has started pointing to things and "saying" what it is in his own little language. Still no words other than "Mama" and "Dada" although we here him trying to say words a lot more now like banana and sophi. He can now sign more which is nice although at during the 30 minute time frame before dinner is ready he can be found chasing me around the kitchen signing more and whining at my feet!

He is very animated and can be found making the funniest faces. He likes to play peek a boo and 

pat-a-cake. He also throws a great feet, usually putting his face on the floor and then throwing his head back onto the ground. He has gotten quite a few bumps on the back of his head simply from tantrum throwing!

 

Our little man loves to dance and sing to music! He loves being outside and riding in the car. He transitioned to a big car seat and loves being able to see his sister Sophi in the back, and sometimes if he strains his head enough, see the tv! 

He takes one big nap a day and one bottle at night before bed. He sleeps 12 hours at night unless he is sick. He is still SUPER ticklish and has the best giggle! He is easily amused and loves to laugh!

He also loves to eat. He is allergic to eggs and has not had any nuts yet. His favorite things to eat are broccoli, sweet potatoes, pizza and yogurt!

 Poor little man kept having ear infections so had tubes put in his ears this past month. He seems to be doing much better and has become louder in his talking! We think he can hear much better now!

 He is still for sure a Daddy's boy....he can not get enough of his daddy and its so cute to see! He loves wrestling, playing rough, playing with any kind of ball and any kind of car. He is all boy!

He has been drooling a ton lately and now has four teeth on the bottom and four on top!

 His hair has started to become a bit crazy and daddy says it's time for a hair cut! Mommy isn't quite ready for her sweet baby boy to have his first hair cut! She is used to those girls and waiting a lot longer for that moment to arrive.  I guess it might be time though...

Sweet, sweet Josiah, I had no idea what it would be like to be a momma of a little boy. I was very nervous about having you. The very moment you entered this world my heart fell head over heels in love with you! Your daddy says you stole my heart, and in many ways that is true. I thank God daily for you, your mischievous grin, your tender heart, your love of life. You bring our family so much joy and I can't begin to imagine what our life would be with out you in it. I love you sweet little man, you will always be my precious baby boy. I know God has great plans for you and I am so thankful he has given me the opportunity to be a part of those plans. I pray that he grows you to love him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love those around you as you love yourself. I pray that you will always know that we, your family, are always on your side. 

I praise God today for the gift he gave us in you!

Siah is 11 months old!

I can't believe this guy is 11 months old! Where has the time gone?!!

 Let's just say this photo session was nearly impossible! Over Christmas break he learned how to go down the stairs on his own, which also means he can now get out of this chair on his own!

Our poor little man keeps having ear infections so Tuesday he will be having surgery to have tubes put in. We know from experience he will feel much better after all that fluid is out of his ears. We are looking forward to having our happy healthy little man back.

 Some other things Siah has started doing this past month:

The biggest thing is he has taken his first steps! He loves to practice walking between people. He occasionally takes some steps on his own off of furniture, however, this is NOT his main form of transportation. He is still an avid crawler and seems to be pretty content with that.

He has learned how to play peek a boo and loves "hiding" his face!

He is become quite dramatic like little older sister! When he is upset he lays his face on the floor and cries before rolling over into a full on fit!

He still doesn't really say any words other than mama and dada. He makes lots of noise, grunting and pointing to get what he wants. He also just started signing more which is cute to watch!

Josiah has become a mans man! He only wants daddy when he is around and has become very attached to my dad, Pops. This is SO different from the girls at this age. They didn't want anything to do with guys!

Siah continues to be super ticklish and has the BEST laugh! He is also still very mischievous and is always getting into trouble, usually by taking something of the girls that he knows he shouldn't!

 He can wave hello and goodbye and kind of says "bye -bye"

 He is down to 1 bottle a day. He has started drinking whole milk at breakfast. He is not sure he likes it. Hopefully we can convince him otherwise!

He celebrated his first Christmas and really enjoyed all the new boy toys he got including LOTS of cars and trains!

He got to spend lots of time with his Grammy and Poppy...

and his Lolly and Pops!

He also got to spend some quality time with his cousin/partner in crime Webb!

He only takes one good nap a day. The other nap is either short or nonexistent! He also has to have about 5 pacis in his bed each time he goes down because he likes to throw them out of his bed. We are always hopeful there will be one left IN his bed when he finally decides to go to sleep!

 We are so in love with this little guy! He is full of life and personality and fills our home with so much laughter and joy! We are excited to celebrate his special day in just a few short weeks!

Josiah at 10 months

I can't believe it but this little man is 10 months old!!!!

Lets just say this photo session was the hardest yet! This little guy will not sit still!!! He is sooo over getting his picture taken from the moment we sit down!

Josiah's personality has really started to imerge over the past month! The biggest thing we have learned about him:

HE IS A PEST!!! He is the typically pesty little brother. He LOVES to pull the girls hair, Maddie's in particular. He also loves taking WHATEVER they are playing with even if he has toys of his own right in front of him. He also knows he is being bad and thinks it is so funny! He will look back and at us, checking in, before moving right along to being bad even as we are telling him no, laughing all the while! What a mess!

He has grown in his animation, still loves blowing raspberries but now talks all the time. No real words but lots of mama, dada, baba, and so on. He carries on lots of conversations with his sisters which is pretty cute to hear!

He has also started making these really funny faces when you are taking his picture. I'm not sure if he sees the girls smile for pictures and so thinks this is what he is supposed to do. It is hysterical!!

Check out those teeth!!!

He now has 6 teeth that have come through, four on the top and two on the bottom! This is sooo unlike my girls, I'm not used to seeing babies with teethy smiles! It's pretty cute don't you think?!

Some other things about Siah that have happen this past month:

-He takes two bottles of formala a day

-He is dropping his morning nap, only takes one really good 2 hour nap a day (ughh!! Just like Sophi)

-Poor guy has had that same ear infection since last month, been on lots of antibiotic and has an appointment with the ENT next week to discuss tubes (our poor kids and their ears!)

-He pulls up on EVERYTHING, cruises, walks around with his walker and can walk holding on to one hand. He is very close to walking but still prefers crawling as his favorite mode of transportation

-He can crawl up any set of stairs but is still learning how to go down. He is more cautious than either of his sisters and won't just fall down the stairs, instead he cries until someone will come and get him as apposed to figuring out how to get down on his own!

-He is ALL boy! He loves wrestling, any kind of ball, and anything with wheels. He can throw a ball back and forth with us and loves to push his cars and airplanes all around the floor! Nothing like my girls!

-He HATES getting his diaper changed or having clothes put on. It is such a chore to have to do this and josh and I are always playing rock, paper, scissors to determine who HAS to change him!

He had his first trip to Disney World this past month and really enjoyed himself! He loved all the characters, they always could find a way to make him laugh.

This encounter was really funny as Siah wanted to touch her sparkly dress, she was not so amused by it! Notice me holding his arm...

-While he is still a momma's boy at heart, he has really started gravitating towards men. If there is a man around you can find Siah crawling over to him and wanting to be held by him. So cute. He bonded with Pops while on our Disney trip!

He had his first Thanksgiving with Grammy and Poppy...

...and has started his first Advent season with us!

We are so in love with this little guy and so thankful that God gave him to us. He brings so much joy and laughter to our family and we can't imagine our life without him in it! Can't wait to see all the ways he grows over this next month!
