Our Sweet Addition

We had a wonderful summer relaxing at the beach! While we were away we made an exciting discovery.

 A new addition would be coming to our family, Baby Strahan #3 would be arriving February 9, 2014! We were overjoyed with this news, especially Sophi who has been praying for many months that God would give our family a baby brother! Time will tell if her this sweet little one will be a brother or another sweet sister!

I have been sick, as I normally am with each pregnancy so far. I am hopefully that my window of tiredness will soon be ending. I need all the energy possibly now that I am back to full time mommyhood with my two crazy girls!

Beach Days

We've been at the beach the last 2 weeks and it has been bliss! We have had lots of lazy days in the sun, sand and water. We have two fish on our hands who can't stay out of the water. Sophi has learned to swim on her own this summer which has made swimming time extra fun! Looking forward to heading back in a few days!

SUMMER!!

It's officially summer at the Strahan house. 

Sophi had her last day of preschool on Thursday. 

She was so blessed to be in Miss Betsy's class this year. What a difference a year has made! She has blossomed into such a fun big girl!

This summer we decided to start a new family tradition, thanks to Aunt Ashley and her introducing us to 

the Happy Family Movement.

Sophi is SUPER excited about all the things we are going to do and it's fun for us to think about all the memories that will be made doing them! Top of Sophi's list is the Aquarium (she still talks about our trip there last summer before Maddie was born!).

We checked off one of our first Bucket List items yesterday AND today by bringing out the slip n slide!

Sophi!!

Maddie has been hogging the blog lately and is it was past due for Sophi to have her own post! This girl has changed so much since the arrival of her sister.

She started preschool for the first time and has so enjoyed making new friends and learning new things with Miss Betsy and her classmates!

She got her first hair cute taking her from this...

 to this! (And yes that is her hair in her hands!) She was so proud of her new hair!

She found a love for dress up and comes up with some of the most creative outfits!

 She started ballet lessons for the first time. Her favorite things about ballet in her words are "twirling and getting to be a princess!"

She also started swimming lessons a few days ago and seems so big!

Having a sister has brought out her nurturing side a bit. I have so loved watching their relationship blossom. What sweet friends I know they will be!

 She has fallen in love with all things Disney and we are enjoying sharing some of the classics with her. Her daddy had a Peter Pan "camp out" night with her while I was gone complete with Peter Pan hat!

She continues to develop a sweet relationship with her daddy and  loves going on their MANY daddy/daughter dates together.

Her love of animals is still very strong. She got to ride a horse over the Christmas break and was not scared at all! 

Sophi and I have enjoyed many Mommy/daughter dates since our one on one time has been limited with Miss Maddie around. Sophi is so great at conversation which makes our time together so much fun!

One thing we have started doing is having tea together on a regular basis(thanks Ellen for the idea!). This is our time to really talk about how she is feeling about things like her sister, her friends, school, and even mommy and daddy. One of my favorite moments with Sophi lately was while we were having tea. I had asked her several questions about how she was doing, what some of her favorite things were these days. We had a quite moment while sipping our tea, then she turned to me and said "Mommy, how are you doing? What is your favorite color now?" Such a sweet, insightful big girl!

 Sophi is always talking, always moving, always joking and so much fun!!

We love our sweet Sophi!

Maddie's Party and 1 year stats

We celebrated our sweet cupcake Maddie this past Saturday at her first birthday party. We were surrounded with family and friends and Josh and I were both reminded of how blessed we are that our children will grow up having such amazing influences in their lives.
