Miss Maddie is 11 months old

Seriously people, where does the time go?!! It seems like yesterday that I was bringing this girl home from the hospital and now look at her! 

Here is a picture of Sophi in this same outfit at 11 months! How different these two girls are!!

 Despite having the stomach bug this past month, we have been ear infection free which has been very nice!!

Maddie is learning new things everyday! She is learning to blow kisses, play peek-a-boo, and dance like her sister!

She is also learning how to be a great Auburn fan!!

 One of the most challenging things she has learned over the past month is how to walk! She has taken off just in the last week, walks anywhere she wants, turns corners and catches her balance all the time! It is so fun to see her explore in a whole new way.

She has found her love for books just like her sister, and since we started putting books in her bed nap times have become much less of a battle. She loves to sit in her bed and read!

She still just has the two bottom teeth but I am guessing those top ones are going to pop through any day now!

 She is still into everything! Maddies loves to open and close doors, crawl under tables, dump things out, put things in buckets and baskets, and then dump them back out again! She can make an extreme mess in a matter of seconds! She really loves playing in the pretend kitchen we have in the playroom because it has all of the things I just mentioned in one spot! 

 

Her hair continues to grow long, thick and curly! So cute!

 She is still all about the drama! She doesn't say any words yet other than "uh oh" and the occasional "mama" or "dada." However, she has no trouble letting you know how she is feeling or when she wants something using sounds and "body language." She shakes her head "no" whenever she doesn't want something which is most helpful...at times! This girl can already throw a pretty mean tantrum! But when she is happy she is super happy, loves to giggle and loves to play! She enjoys playing the chase and tackle game with her daddy and sister most of all. 

I went on a cruise with my mom and sister in law last week and was gone for 6 days. This was the longest I have ever been away from Maddie. Josh was on Spring Break and graciously agreed to keep the girls while I was gone. Maddie and daddy really bonded while I was gone and he has definitely become one of her favorite people.

She still takes two bottles a day and is still petite but has done some growing! She now fits into most 9 month clothes :)

 We are so in love with this little girl and can't wait to celebrate  her special birthday next month!

Disney World!!

Despite the stomach bug that Sophi caught the week before our trip and Maddie coming down with it the night we arrived, we had a blast experiencing one of the most magical places on earth!

Maddie at 10 months

I can't believe this sweet girl is almost a year old! 

This month has been another full of changes for Miss Maddie!

One of the biggest changes is weaning! She now takes two bottles of formula a day, one in the morning and one at night, no more nursing with mommy. She had no issues transition which was a nice surprise and she enjoys being fed by Daddy these days!

The other big change has been taking her first steps! She isn't walking all the time but is cruising and take those few steps often! So cute!!

She still loves to eat and is trying her hand at eating with a spoon. This is usually the result!

She experienced her first snow and was even able to go for a little sled ride! She doesn't really mind the cold at all and laughs every time the wind blows on her face.

She still loves her sister! Sophi has really started to love on her and take care of her like such a big sister!

Sophi has been sick with the stomach bug this week and I have had to keep Maddie as far away from her as possible. Whenever she would manage to get away she would make a b-line straight for Sophi and talk and giggle with her. She has really missed her big sister this week!

Notice her finger in her ear? We have two more ear infections and are scheduled to meet with a pediatric ENT to discuss removing her adnoids. Poor girl!

She has become very expressive as of late not so much in her words but in her noises and faces!

She is not afraid to let you know how she feels, which is often happy and giggly!

 She is also really into mimicking right now, especially her sister and gets so tickled at herself when she gets it right!

She has had a few fun visitors over the past month. So fun to have GiGi come to see us for a day!

And Jumbo, the class pet in Sophi's preschool room who came to spend a weekend with us!

 I forgot to mention last month that Maddie got her first tooth. She now has two on the bottom but so far that is it. What a cutie!

She is started to say "MaMa" but it can be used to refer to myself, along with just about everything else. She doesn't say anything else besides "uh oh" but she sure does make LOTS of noise!

 She is not fearless like her sister at this age but is definitely into everything! Loves pulling things out, putting things in, opening cabinets, closing cabinets, and on and on! Such a fun age!
