Full term...guess Maddie's birthday!

Yesterday I reached the full term mile marker, 37 weeks!

I can't believe she is almost here!

As family tradition goes, we now start the game of choosing the date you think the baby will actually be born.

My due date is set at April 20th.

Here are the predictions so far:

Spring Break

Thank goodness for a Spring Break. It is much needed time to step away from the realities of life, to laugh, to play, to be free...if only for a few days.

Josh started off the Spring break running a half marathon with my dad, brother and sister-in-law. While I was a little jelous I could not participate with them this time, I was so proud of all of them for their great accomplishment!

Josh and I spent the first half of the week in Pigeon Forge in a beautiful cabin in the mountains. What a blessing!

While enjoying the sites and sounds of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smokies we also celebrated our 7th Anniversary! It was so great to have the chance to get away and just be the two of us before we become a family of four!

The second half of the week we had planned on picking up Sophi and taking her back to the cabin for a few more days away. However, after a some minor contraction moments we both decided it would be better to be close to home, just in case. So we did a "stay-cation" with Sophi the last half of the week which we all thoroughly enjoyed!

We went to the Chattanooga Aquarium the first day which was a blast!

We also acquired a new purple friend on the trip who was promptly named Gower

(rhymes with flower...and we have no idea where this name came from other than out of our child's crazy brain).

The next day we went to the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro which was a new, fun experience for us all.

She especially loved the craft room!

We did Chuck E Cheese one day (probably won't be doing it again anytime soon!)

and the last day we went to see Veggie Tales Live.

While this was her face for most of the time...

she did enjoy dancing in the isles at the end!

After waiting in a very long line (which Sophi insisted upon) this is what we got for meeting Bob and Larry!

We loved being able to spend this last little time as a family of three. It was so fun to share all these special memories with our precious little Sophi!

We are all now anxiously anticipating the arrival of sweet Maddie. Just a few more weeks!

Ready for Maddie

I had to share these pictures with you!! Rebecca, Josh's mom, came this week to paint Maddie's room. Here is the finished product...

Thank you soooo much Rebecca! It looks amazing! I am so exited to bring Maddie home to her precious room! Only a few more weeks!

Its been awhile...

Of all the things I have been doing lately, taking pictures and blogging has not been one of them. This could be why...

34 weeks...6 weeks to go. My kiddos are taking all my energy!

The gloomy winter weather hasn't helped me want to pull out my camera either. Hopefully this sunny week will give me inspiration to get it out.

My little girl is already 2 and 1/2...where has the time gone!!! I must give you an update on her and ALL her personality this week...hopefully!!

Sophi and I have started a little homeschool preschool. We are learning the alphabet with this curriculum "Letter of the week" from this homeschool mom's blog confessionsofahomeschooler.com. We have had a lot of fun learning what each letter says and what words start with each letter. We are currently on letter E. This is a glimpse into our lives the last few weeks..

Sophi's New Room

Its been awhile since my last post. Since Christmas our lives have been all about settling into our new place and our new routine with Josh's spring semester. I am looking forward to sharing with you pictures of our place but thought I would start with Sophi's new room.

A week after moving in Sophi made the transition from her crib to her big girl bed. She surprised us all and did an amazing job. She is using my bed from when I made the same transition at her age in anticipation of my baby brother being born (his birthday is Maddie's due date!). She loves being in her big girl bed and doesn't get down until we come in thanks to her green light (which we had been using for about 6 months) and the threat of not getting to watch her one tv show for the day if she does!

Grammy (Josh's mom) just finished painting the walls and it looks AMAZING. Sophi LOVES her owls and trees that go along with her cute bedding!

This has been a big year of change for our little girl and she has done better than we have many days!

We are so proud of her and look forward to watching her blossom in her new home.

In other news, I am 27 weeks, in the third trimester and growing by the day! I have started going to the doctor every two weeks now which is still just crazy to me! I have one very active little girl, which the doctor continues to confirm every time I am there! Can't wait to meet her in just a few short months!

Counting Down to Christmas: Days 22-25

WARNING: LONG POST

Day 22: Unwrap a new Christmas Ornament and Hang on our Family Tree

I didn't get a chance to buy a new ornament before this one came around so I took Sophi with me to pick one out. She picked out the Candy Cane ornament, her favorite candy of the holiday! She also received a super cute owl ornament from Lolly a few days before. We let Sophi hang both of these ornaments on the tree herself. This is were they ended up!

Day 23: Make Gingerbread Houses

We all LOVED doing this together as a family! Sophi consumed a lot of candy that morning but Josh and I both commented that this is a tradition we want to keep every year! We went to Monkey Joes afterwards to work off all the sugar and even got a nap out of Sophi that afternoon!

Day 24: Strahan Family Christmas and Open one Gift from Under the Tree

That morning we each got to open one gift, our Christmas Pajamas to wear Christmas Day! Before heading up to Columbia, TN for the day to celebrate Christmas with Josh's family, we discovered that Mary and Joseph had arrived at the stable, anxiously awaiting the birth of their son.
